Flekkefjord museum

The Flekkefjord museum is located in the heart of Hollenderbyen. There are changing exhibitions in the Sjøbuene and a permanent exhibition about "Tatjana", as well as the Lars Kristian Gulbrandsen exhibition. The Flekkefjord museum consists of an old merchant's house in Hollenderbyen and two sea cabins (sjøbuer) that have been rebuilt after a fire in 1981. In addition, the museum owns the Flekkefjord boat "Solstrand" from 1936.

Hollenderbyen (The dutch quarter)

In the old district of Hollenderbyen, small and slightly larger wooden houses are closely packed in narrow cobblestone streets. From the 1500s to the 1700s, a large number of Dutch settled in Flekkefjord and made their living trading oak forests, gray stone, and lobster. The Dutch have left their mark on Flekkefjord and its inhabitants, which is why the old town of Flekkefjord has been nicknamed Hollenderbyen.
